Lokesh Kanagaraj(Director)
Lokesh Kanagaraj is an Indian film director and writer. Who work in Tamil film industry of South Indian. Lokesh started his film career with a film in the year 2016 anthology Aviyal. Lokesh directed his debut film Managaram in 2017. after this he has made films like Master, Kathy, Vikram. lokesh has also created his own Cinematic Universe named Loki Universe.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj was born in Kinathukadavu village of Coimbatore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Hi got his early education from there, after that Lokesh did his MBA in PSG College of Arts and Science. lokesh is also a former bank employee. He started his film career there by participating in a corporate short film competition. Karthik Subbaraj, impressed by Lokesh’s short film, encouraged Lokesh to make a career in film direction.
Lokesh Kanagaraj started his film career in 2016 with a short film. After this he started film direction in which he made the film ‘Managaram’ in the year 2017. Mangaram was followed by the production of her film Kaithi with actor Karthi. after this film kaithi Lokesh directed an action thriller film Master starring Vijay Thalapathy and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles, the film was released on 13 January 2021, proved to be the highest grosser of all time. After this film he directed Vikram in which Vijay Sethupathi, Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil appeared in the lead roles. this film vikram was released in 2022 and this film broke all the records of box office.
After the success of Kathy and Vikram, Lokesh created his own cinematic universe. The films to be made in the Loki Universe are Kaithi, Vikram, Leo with them and after that the sequel of Kaithi and Vikram is going to be made in which Kaithi 2, Vikram 2 are going to be made. Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently busy shooting for his much awaited film Leo. leo is a big budget film to be made in the Loki Universe, in which Vijay Thalapaathy, Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, Gautam Vasu are going to be seen in the lead roles.
